The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to target the introduction of novel advanced manufacturing (AM) capabilities to the commercial sector and DoW, supporting the INDOPACOM mission, regardless of physical location, that can serve as an example to commercial industries on how to improve their advanced manufacturing, maintenance, and sustainment processes. The overall goal will be to coalesce the commercial sector’s and DOW’s advanced manufacturing initiatives through a collaborative effort in order to:
- Expand industrial operations to reverse diminished industrial capacity in the INDOPACOM region.
- Demonstrate infrastructure solutions to enable manufacturing, maintenance, sustainment, and production of more advanced technologies in the INDOPACOM region.
- Develop a holistic complex of advanced manufacturing production in an austere environment.
- Replicate and expand this complex to a broader network as applicable.
The industry team will be expected to develop capabilities for the AM prototyping of structures using large scale-AM, hybrid metal AM, subtractive CNC manufacturing, polymer spraying technologies, and attritable assembly techniques to evaluate the viability of maintenance and repair in limited scale.
If you feel your organization has the technical capabilities and would like to be considered for this project, please complete the form below and upload your organization’s technical capabilities statement.
