The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to demonstrate a unified workflow that modernizes preparation of legacy technical data for repair and replacement that supports transition beyond the sponsoring activity. The overall objectives are to demonstrate how AI-enabled tools and structured data processes can:

  • Improve sustainment responsiveness by converting legacy drawings and documents into manufacturable digital part records.
  • Demonstrate AI-enabled manufacturability assessment at scale for parts requiring repair, replacement, or on-demand production.
  • Support CAD reconstruction pathways for components lacking digital models.
  • Organize qualification and inspection evidence into reusable digital packages.
  • Provide an evidence-based framework that strengthens the Organic Industrial Base (OIB) by characterizing domestic AM capability and associating vetted suppliers with part- and pathway-specific sustainment needs.

If you feel your organization has the technical capabilities and would like to be considered for this project, please complete the form below and upload your organization’s technical capabilities statement.
