The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to improve effectiveness of organization-wide programs in reducing the negative impacts of corrosion on fielded equipment and infrastructure. The overall goal is to develop a series of new or improved processes and corresponding metrics that implement and measure the effectiveness of an enterprise-wide Corrosion Prevention and Control (CPC) program.

Specific objectives include developing processes for assessing the state of CPC awareness among DOW personnel; creating plans, procedures, guidebooks, templates, etc. to promote CPC best practices; and demonstrating a pilot process for implementing a CPC program and assessing its effectiveness.
