The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to identify a validated and repeatable method for running commercial fleet maintenance software in a secure container hosting environment while connecting it to the data that maintenance and sustainment depend on.
Additional key objectives include:
- Inventory and map the maintenance data flows that connectivity must carry
- Define and validate a secure connectivity boundary between a hosted maintenance application and enterprise data sources, using the same procedures applied to high-security applications in the commercial sector
- Prove the maintenance application can operate on accredited networks and assess each flow’s connection requirements
- Identify follow-on transition requirements
